Install Windows 7 from USB (Pen Drive) – Part 1

Installing Windows was never been easier before when there was No Windows 7. Most complicated work was to create a boot CD for beginner users and without using any external tools. That era was full of CDs and NERO Burning Tools. Windows 2003, XP,or previous versions are available on CD and can be installed. But the bad aspect of CD is they get damaged pretty soon after frequent use. Also, it was compulsory to have CD ROM in computer system which was not preferred in professional environment mostly to avoid misuse. At least at my earlier office. They do not put CD ROM with computer and when need to format, the IT Guy have external CD ROM and he connects by opening CPU to proceed the installation.
But when Microsoft released Windows 7 on 22nd July 2009, then Microsoft distributed it online using ISO formats. ISO Image contains all the data sector by sector so it can be decompressed and used seamlessly. Now we have the new experience of Installing Windows. Now formatting and Installing New Windows is job for beginner. In few steps everyone even who do not have any previous experience of installing Windows can do the job using ISO and Microsoft’s official Tool.
Soon after Microsoft released Windows 7, they released a product named Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool on October 2009. This tool can create a boot CD or bootable USB in 4 steps. We will take help of USB here. Now the same distribution method is being used by Microsoft for New Operating Systems so, in this article we will learn to create a bootable USB for Windows 10.
Before proceeding:
  • I expect you have downloaded the ISO of your Operating System before going to below points. The links should be provided when you purchase the Windows from Microsoft Store.
  • Go to Microsoft Official Store and Download the software. Link
  • Wait for the download to complete which is around 2.60 MB. Install the application as normal software. Please note, this application is available for Windows Operating System and works on .NET framework. If you feeling any kind of problem, click here to go to the official guide to troubleshooting.
  1. Open the Application by Double Clicking the Shortcut created in Desktop or open using Search of your operating system.
  2. Step 1: Click Browse button to choose ISO, after selecting Proper ISO Image file, click Next.

  3. Step 2: Click on USB Device button.

  4. Step 3: Choose your USB Device from Dropbox List and click on Begin Copying. Note, this will erase all data in USB Driver and Format it to NTFS (New Technology File System) File System. Do not forget to back up your important data before proceeding.

  5. Step 4: This is actually not a step. It is just some rest time. Based in your System Resources, USB Device configuration and ISO Image file size, it takes 2 minutes or more to reach 100%. Keep an eye on progress bar being displayed. You will see step by step status also being displayed. Which will tell you the current progress actually taking place at background.
